What time does camp end? 3 pm
Do you offer before and after care? Yes, we offer before care beginning at 8:30 am and after care that runs from 3 pm through 4:30 pm at $15/ hour. You must sign up for this advance, we need at least 24 hours notice to fulfill before and after care requests. What is the price of camp? Each camp week is $370.
What age range does the camp serve? Ages 4 - 12
Who will my child be grouped with? For each weekly camp session we typically host 3 groups of campers who are divided by age. The groups are typically:
1) Littles - Ages 4 & 5
2) Middles- Ages 6 & 7
3) Bigs- Ages 8, 9, 10 +
We work to accommodate sibling and friend requests. There is a space on the camp registration form to request your child be placed in a group with a friend or sibling.
Are you an approved summer camp program? Yes, we are an Ulster County Department of Health approved summer camp.
What kind of training and background checks do camp staff undergo? We have on-site staff trained and certified by the Red Cross in first aid, CPR, and AED. All staff have undergone criminal / sexual offender background check as outlined by the Ulster County Department of Health.
What is the age range of the camp staff? Our camp education team ranges in age from 18 - 50 plus years old, we also have Counselors-in-Training (CIT's) ages 12 -16 & helpers.
What is the ratio of staff to campers? The camper to counselor ratio is 6:1 with a minimum of 2 staff on hand per pod of twelve children.
How do you prepare for medical emergencies and health issues? Our staff is trained and certified in First Aid by the Red Cross. The training teaches when it is appropriate to call 911. One of Seed Song Center's board members is highly active with, and travels widely as a volunteer for, Red Cross and has put together our emergency plan. Another board member is a Registered Nurse and serves as our Medical Director.
Do you have a typical daily schedule?
We have a default schedule, we adapt it as each week progresses based on camper excitement and interests:
9:00 morning hands-on task and play
9:15 morning circle and farm care activities
10:00 learning theme activity
10:45 snack
11:00 game or arts/crafts/building activities
12:00 lunch and play
1:00 learning theme and/or multi-arts and building activities
2:30 singing/ game/ closure
3:00 pickup
Are lunch/snacks provided, or should we send the child with lunch and snacks? There will be fresh farm snacks but lunch and 2 snacks need to be provided (see registration info on website). Please pack lunches that do not need to be refrigerated.
