Counselor In Training (CIT) Program at Seed Song Farm

This program is for children ages 12-16.

The CIT role is a great way for teens to gain hands on experience in farm & nature based education.  CIT's in our program act as support to the lead educators (lead counselors). In this important supporting role, they can help with simple tasks like opening snacks, tying shoelaces, trips to the bathroom and also with themed camp activities like story time, arts and crafts. Each CIT's experience is unique and shaped by their personal interests.

CIT's, just like Lead Educators, are role models to the campers.  As role models,

We encourage CIT's to foster behaviors that are in line with our farm mission, including:
  •  Modeling respect for the land through recycling, composting and reducing and or reusing materials especially arts and craft supplies
  •  Modeling respect for plants and animals, both the farm vegetables, livestock and native wild life
  • Modeling respect for each other through kindness, non-violent communication and empathy
We expect CIT's to behave appropriately and follow camp safety and conduct guidelines, including:
  • Buddy system protocol for campers
  • Maintaining camp-appropriate conversations and subjects
  • Respecting spaces that are "Non Camp Zones" on the farm

Please email any questions about the CIT Program to camp@seedsongfarm.org
