Seed Song Center!

contribute today to help us get immigrant and low income campers to summer camp

Many of our immigrant and low-income neighbors have a huge anxiety in the summer: Can you imagine being a parent who needs to work all summer to support their family but cannot afford to send their child to daycare or summer camp, and instead needs to leave them in the care of an 11-year old sibling or an uncertain situation. There are many such families in our community.

Seed Song Center has always gone out of its way to welcome a high percentage of these families into our camp on scholarship. This program may top the list of those that speak directly to our hearts and to our mission, summed up as Beloved Regeneration.
We have been collaborating with a local immigrant support organization, which has identified many families for whom a camp program is a critical need in order for the parent(s) to continue working. Often these families are in need of scholarship funds, transportation, and translation.

On June 24 we launched a GoFundMe Fundraiser with an ambitious $48,000 goal to meet these needs for as many families as we can this summer. Every dollar will go towards helping these children have an amazing summer experience.
Already in the works:
  • Many families are waiting to be registered
  • Two Q’ech’i - speaking (native Guatemalan language) counselors waiting to be hired
  • A vegetable-oil powered bus is waiting to be leased
  • Kitchen equipment is waiting to be ordered
Yes , all is in place to bring dozens of families this critical support- all except FUNDS.
Can you help by joining our spirited fundraising team- only about an hour of your time for each of two days anytime within the month is needed to join- that is the most valuable thing you could do to help this beautiful cause. (though we would LOVE to have contributions too, especially a matching fund contribution to double donor’s contributions.)
